“Eesti Laul” -
Estonian National Selection
for Eurovision Song Contest

Estonia selects the song to represent Estonia on ESC through a set of LIve Television Shows: 2 Semi-Final Shows and one Final Show. These do happen in January - March every year. Around 24 songs will compete with each other. For creating an unique visual capture for each song, detailed camera scripts will be created in LIveEdit. The scriptiing process takes months of preparation and every show gets several rehearsals with the artists on the stage. Much like the production schedule goes on the main Eurovision Song Contest.

The shows are filmed in front of the live audience in the arenas, 1 flyiing camera, 2 Steadicams, 2 Moviebird cranes and a rail dolly is usually used in the the camera set.

Some songs here: OLLIE.-Venom, Anna Sahlene - Champion, STEFAN - Hope.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk

Belarusian Television did decide to hire international specialists for the key positions in the production team when the production of JESC 2018 started. I did fly in and did bring with me a VIsion Mixer and Script Supervisor from Estonia. Later throughout the process we did also add one Estonian Steadicam operator. OB truck and crew were from NEP Sweden. The rest of the broadcast team was from Belarus and the production language within the team was English. Most of the camera crew had this as a first opportunity for them to work with a CuePilot system. There were total of 20 countries paricipating. The stage, lighting and sound systems were impresively on the level of main Eurovision Song Contest. More information here.

The shows are filmed in Minsk Arena, 1 flyiing camera, 2 Steadicams, 2 Moviebird cranes and a rail dolly is usually used in the the camera set,
